Too much noise

I am so tired of the noisy bikers going up and down State Road A1A. Hello, do they not see the condos on both sides of the road? People live there and at some point would like to sleep. My dog is terrorized, to say the least. Dogs have hearing much better than ours. I have to keep telling him it’s OK, but it’s not. Some bikers don’t consider residents who live here. Would they like for someone to be making all this noise at their house? I think not. And they travel in packs, making it worse.

[LANE: A local’s guide to surviving Bike Week]

I think officials in Daytona Beach Shores should make it so if their pipes are louder than a certain noise level they are not allowed to go down A1A, and certainly not 68, or even 12, together. Yes it’s good they spend money, but we do too. We pay taxes, shop at the stores, buy gas and go to restaurants. By Monday it was already crazy and I’m going crazy.

Please, bikers, think of others. And our officials should try to remedy this. They need to be in someone’s condo for the week and I am sure things would change. These bikes come down AIA at 2 and 3 a.m. and sometimes later.

They should save their money and donate it to a homeless shelter. What a waste of money, and some even ride after drinking.

Watch for bikes

Kudos and thank you to the Daytona Beach Shores police officer who stopped a driver after they pulled in front of me while riding my motorcycle on State Road A1A recently. The officer was behind me and watched me take evasive action, downshifting twice and hard on the brakes to avoid a collision. With Bike Week upon us, please everyone look twice, and motorcycle friends, please ride defensively.

A big thank you to all Volusia County law enforcement.

Dangerous alliance

The alliance of some powerful media corporations in concert with the Democrats should be a concern to all Americans. This could be dangerous. With the presidential election less than two years away, some national media have now pretty much partnered up with the Democrats.

President Donald Trump has a long record of success: Lowest unemployment rates in years, wages rose 3.1 percent in the third quarter of 2018 which was the biggest jump since 2009, manufacturing jobs grew for a 12-month period through July 2018 at the fastest rate in 23 years and there are at least 10 more I could list.

The liberal media will not point this out.

Side effects

I couldn’t help reflecting on the ubiquitous and annoying ads on TV for the always new and uncountable amount of drugs being put on the market. “Ask your doctor if (this drug) is right for you,” they say. The ads then end with the half-dozen or more side effects, which sometimes include death!

And if the potential users of these drugs — or should I say sometimes the victim? — experiences any of those symptoms, they’re told to immediately consult their doctor. Makes me wonder how doctors have time to consult their regular patients.
